Beta Releases for EMU 2

These are test versions only. The not yet released EMU 2.0 will be quite different in respect to older versions. All available tools like the EMU labeller, Template Editor, tkassp etc. are summarized within one graphical user interface (dbemu). This new interface provides the possiblity to open a database utterance with praat or wavesurfer. Thus the database functionality of the EMU system can be indirectly used by Praat and wavesurfer. Another more technical feature is the new arrangement of the EMU source. This new EMU will be build in a way that it uses the same program routines on all platforms.

All of the following test versions of the EMU system already includes the new dbemu interface and the possibility to open utterances with Praat or wavesurfer. If there are problems or if you have any remarks please send an e-mail to natty_t@gmx.de.

Bugfix in assp-tools

There has been a bug in in the spectrum application of the assp-tools producing erroneous results while calculating cepstral coefficient. Fixed versions of spectrum and the entire package are available on http://www.ipds.uni-kiel.de/ms/assp/ as well as in the Emu-Projects CVS repository (http://sourceforge.net/projects/emu/).

Tools

labeltypeFromLevel

ssff2wav

The following tools are integrated in the EMU system since release 1.10

queryGUI

The following tools are integrated in the EMU system since release 1.9

AutoBuildExtern

labConvert

GTemplate Editor

GTed & DelLevel

tkassp

AutoBuildExtern

AutoBuildExtern makes it possible to run AutoBuild scripts for all utterances of a speech database outside the EMU labeller. Thus, there is no need to open each utterance in the labeller to use the BuildHierarchy button which runs the script for the open utterance only.

GTed & DelLevel

GTed & DelLevel is a shared interface of the Graphical Template Editor and the program Delete Level. The GTemplate Editor is described above. Delete Level makes it possible to delete levels from utterances of speech databases. For that, it is not enough to delete a level from the template file, because the label files (hlb) keeps information about defined levels and their hierarchy also. This way leads to error messages or failures in presentation. Delete Level deletes levels from the template file and from the hlb files either. Further information here.

queryGUI

queryGUI is a graphical interface that creates an EMU query string. The string is given to the EMU Query Tool, where the real query takes action. The graphical interface should support the user. In a way that the user doesn't need to know much about syntax and semantics of the EMU Query Language.
